Shopping in Germany

Today we went shopping in Germany, It took us 26minutes to Kaufland in Waldshut from our School. We left school at around 14:30. We were surprised by the size of the shop. But what almost made us lose our heads were the prices, we all almost had tears of joy when we saw how cheap Heinz Sauces or beer was. Apart from noting down all kinds of products we had to buy some for ourselves. Food from all sorts of brands are at least 30% cheaper. We were shocked when we saw that Lindt chocolate was cheaper here than at home.

The only big downside we saw in Germany is the so called "Pfand" on pretty much all beverages, so if you don't plan on returning the PET bottles or tin cans, you can lose up to 30cents per item. On our way back it took us 36minutes. Since we left around 16:30, there was a little bit of traffic. We measured the usage of petrol from Lirim's Ford Mondeo. It gobbled up 5.4litres of petrol.

Jochanan will write a word document with all the prices tonight, so that we have those saved on the computer. This wasn’t our last journey to Germany because we are planning on asking the locals about the aftermath of the Swiss Franc shock.
